Aitana Sanz - Soprano

Aitana Sanz was born in Valencia in 1999. She began her musical studies at the age of 8 passing through various choirs, in one of which she was selected to participate in the children's choir of La Bohème at the Palau de les Arts in the 2012-2013 season.

She combines this activity with her piano and singing studies at the Valencia Professional Conservatory of Music and finishes both degrees in the 17/18 and 18/19 academic years, respectively. That last year she obtained the Professional Music Award on its regional phase. She has been studying with the great soprano Isabel Rey ever since.

In 2021 she finished her Higher Degree studies in the specialty of singing at the Valencia Conservatory of Music with an Extraordinary Prize, with the soprano Ofelia Sala as tutor.

Currently, she continues her training with a Master in Vocal Performance at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien under the tutelage of soprano Krassimira Stoyanova.

At just 17 years old, she made her debut with the role of Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro for school children, and, at 19, with La Voce dal Celo from “Don Carlo” (Verdi) in the 52nd Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Opera Season, with conductor Sesto Quatrini.

She has also collaborated on vocal projects as a soloist at Berklee College of Music (Valencia Campus). She has sung on several stages such as the Palau de la Música and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Pérez Galdós Theater in Gran Canaria, the Jameos del Agua Auditorium in Lanzarote and the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn Wien.

During 2022, she made her debut as Olympia from “Les Contes d´Hoffmann” (Offenbach) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria replacing Jessica Pratt, who canceled due to illness, and with Maestro Yves Abel as conductor; and as Contessa di Folleville from “Il viaggio a Reims” (Rossini) at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, with Maestro Daniel Carter.

She has been awarded with prestigious prizes in international competitions around the World, such as the Manhattan International Music Competition (2022), Nomea International Competition (2021), Otto Edelman Singing Competition (Best Young Talent, 2021), and the Excellence Prize for Russian Lied at the International Voice Competition Grand Prix of Romania (2020), among others.

Most recent reviews have highlighted her “youthful charm, excellent technique, cotton candy phrasing and the innate elegance of her singing style.”
