ANTHONY KORONEOS – tenor
In the last few seasons Anthony Koroneos has been heard in Il Conte Ory in Geneva, I Puritani in Essen, Don Pasquale in Rome, La Sonnambula in Zurich, L’italiana in Algeri in Treviso, Tancredi and Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Cenerentola at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania and in a tour to Japan plus Il trittico in Modena, Piacenza and Ferrara. He has appeared in Athens in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Die Fledermaus and Die Zauberflöte . Ηe also tοοκ part in a Russian tour with the Piccolo Teatro di Milano singing Così fan tutte. With the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf he has been seen in La Dame Blanche, L’Italiana in Algeri , La Sonnambula, Cenerentola, Zauberfloete, Don Pasquale, Barbiere, and Rigoletto.
At the Megaron of Athens he has sung the Mozart Requiem, Così fan tutte, Monteverdi’s Orfeo, Mikroutstkos’ Eleni and Theodorakis’ Antìgones. Since 1994 he has been singing at the National Greek Opera where he has performed in the following operas:Il barbiere di Siviglia (Almaviva), Cenerentola (Ramiro), Anna Bolena (Riccardo Percy), L’elisir d' amore (Nemorino), Die Zauberflote (Tamino), Così fan tutte (Fernando), Rota’s II cappello di paglia di Firenze (Fardinand), Rossini’s Le Comte Ory (Comte Ory) , La Traviata Alfredo), Nabucco(Ismaele), Rigoletto(Duca di Mantova)etc. At the GNO he is a member of the ensemble since 2004.
Since 1998 he has performed in productions abroad: in Wildbad in Rossini’s II viaggio a Reims (Belfiore) and Armida (Fernando); Chieti in II cambiale di matrimonio ; Baden-Baden and Paris, Berlioz’s Béatrice et Benedict , Il Signor Bruschino in Florence and Pisa, Falstaff in Cosensa , Die Zauberflote (Tamino) in Jesi, Livorno, Pisa, Lucca, Ravenna (Italy) Strasburg and Pesaro for Liebenskoff in Il Viaggio a Reims.
On the concert stage he has sung the Evangelist in Bach’s St John Passion in Naples , A.L Weber’s Requiem in Erfurt , the Beethoven Fantasia in Lyon, Battistelli’s Orchestra rehearsal in Rome and Modena, the Rossini Stabat Mater in Beirut

Born in New York, Anthony Koroneos started his musical studies at the age of eight and in 1988 he took his piano diploma. His singing studies started in 1989 and included among his teachers Kostas Paskalis and William Matteuzzi . He was a first prize in Giuseppe di Stefano’s international competition in and also in the European Union Opera international competition.
