KRASSIMIRA STOYANOVA – soprano
Krassimira Stoyanova was born in Bulgaria and studied violin at the Conservatory in Rousse and singing and violin at the Plovdiv Music Academy.
Mrs. Stoyanova made her professional debut in 1995 at the Sofia National Opera, where she sang a wide range of repertory: Rigoletto (Gilda), Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Il Guarany (Cecilia), and Antonio Carlo Gomes' I Fosca (Delila), La Juive (Rachel), La Clemenza di Tito (Vitellia) and Idomeneo (Ilia).

Since 1998 Krassimira Stoyanova has been engaged at the Wiener Staatsoper - and has sung in the following operas: La Juive - with TV-production (Rachel), Le Nozze di Figaro (Contessa), Carmen (Micaela), Les contes d'Hoffmann (Antonia), Turandot (Liù), I Pagliacci (Nedda), La Bohème (Mimi), La Traviata (Violetta), just to mention only few.
The 2003/2004 season presented a new production of Verdi's Falstaff (Alice Ford) at the Vienna State Opera, and Le Nozze di Figaro (Gräfin), Turandot (Liù), I Pagliacci (Nedda) for Ms. Stoyanova.
Further highlights of the 2003/2004 season include Anna Bolena (title role) at Carnegie Hall with Opera Orchestra of New York, Dvorak: Stabat Mater and Dimitri at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Bruckner: Te Deum at the Musikverein in Vienna, and Dvorak: Stabat Mater at the Alte Oper Frankfurt.
For Krassimira Stoyanova, the 2004/2005 season began with Il Trovatore at the Washington Opera followed by Turandot (Liù) at the Metropolitan Opera, Falstaff (Alice), Simone Boccanegra (Amelia) and Les contes d’Hoffmann (Antonia) at the Vienna State Opera, a concert at the Carnegie Hall/New York and the Dvorak Requiem in Munich.
In 2005/06, the soprano gave already a highly noticed Anna in Puccini’s Le Villi at the Vienna State Opera (new production) as well as a celebrated Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Bilbao (new production). She returned to the Vienna State Opera with Falstaff (Alice). Additional highlights of this season were Otello (Desdemona) at the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona and in Tokyo (new productions) as well as Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater in Monte Carlo and Beethoven’s 9th symphony at the Musikverein in Vienna conducted by Georges Pretre.
Season 2006/07: season’s opening at the Vienna State Opera with Otello/Desdemona (new production) as well as performances of Le Villi and Le Nozze di Figaro (Countess) with M° Ozawa, concerts (Beethoven’s 9th) with Sir Colin Davis at the Gstaad Festival and Mariss Jansons at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Brahms requiem with M° Fedoseev at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, I Pagliacci (Nedda) and La Traviata (Violetta) at the Metropolitan Opera New York, I Pagliacci (Nedda) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Upon special request of Plácido Domingo, she participated in his gala concert in Vienna on May 19th, 2007.
The season 2007/08 started with performances of Simone Boccanegra and Otello at the Vienna State Opera as well as La Bohème at the State Operas Munich and Dresden. In Munich she also performed during this season Luisa Miller. And she again returned to the Metropolitan Opera, this time with Carmen (Micaela). At the Liceu in Barcelona she sang the title role in the new production of Luisa Miller. She again participated in concerts with Mariss Jansons (Beethoven’s 9th in Salzburg and Baden-Baden as well as the Brahms requiem in Munich and at the Luzern Festival), Mº Fedoseev (Dvorak Stabat Mater in Paris with Radio France Orchestre Philharmonique), Mº Thielemann (9. Beethoven with Münchner Philharmoniker).
The season 2008/09 started with a concert of Otello at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, then Don Giovanni (Donna Anna) at the Metropolitan Opera, followed by Le Nozze di Figaro, Otello and La Boheme at the Vienna State Opera and a Simone Boccanegra new production at the Liceu in Barcelona. She gave concerts with M° Janssons at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and at the Musikverein in Vienna (Dworak Requiem). A highlight of this season was the debut of the title roles of both Gluck operas Iphigenie en Aulide (new production with Riccardo Muti at Rome`s Opera House) and Iphigenie en Tauride (new production at Hamburg`s State Opera).
The season ended with performances of Luisa Miller at the July Festival of the Bavarian State Opera Munich.
Season start 2009/10 was in Ginevra with the new production of Simone Boccanegra, followed by a revival of Iphigenie en Tauride at Hamburg`s State Opera, performances of La Boheme, Otello, Falstaff, La Juive at Vienna`s State Opera, new production of Il Trovatore at Barcelona`s Liceu, new production of Dvorak`s Rusalka at Zurich`s Opera House, Verdi`s Requiem with Mº Jansons and the Berliner Philharmoniker in Berlin and Salzburg.
She opened the season 2010/11 with a revivals of La Boheme at Vienna`s State Opera followed by Verdi`s Requiem with Mº Gatti in Paris and Vienna, concerts with Mº Muti in Graz, Linz and Vienna (Rossini`s Stabat Mater). Krassimira Stoyanova returned again to the Metropolitan Opera with La Boheme, to the Munich State Opera with Luisa Miller. She had her Bastille-Debut as Luisa Miller and her house- and role debut in Amsterdam with Eugen Onegin "Tatjana".
Seasons 2011/12: season opening at Barcelona`s Liceu with her role debut as "Marguerite" in Gounod`s Faust (new production), followed by a concert of Verdi’s Requiem with La Scala and M Barenboim in Moscow. Again Verdi’s Requiem with M Muti at Teatro San Carlo in Naples. Revivals of Otello at Munich’s and Vienna’s State Opera, new production of Don Carlo at Vienna’s State Opera (role debut of “Elisabetta”), revival of Luisa Miller at Berlin’s Deutsche Oper. The season will end with concerts of Bruckner’s Te Deum with M Mehta and Verdi’s Requiem with M Muti, both with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Season 12/13: revival of Don Carlo and Otello at Vienna’s State Opera, a production of Simone Boccanegra in Chicago, new production of ARIADNE AUF NAXOS (role debut of Ariadne) at Vienna’s State Opera, new production Eugen Onegin at London’s Covent Garden, Otello at the Metropolitan Opera as well as the new production of Simon Boccanegra at Munich’s State Opera.
Concerts of Verdi’s Requiem with M Mehta in Munich and with M Gatti and London Philharmonia Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall.
In October 2009 Krassimira Stoyanova was nominated Kammersängerin by the Vienna State Opera.
In 2008 she released her first solo CD recording, I palpiti d’amor, (label: Orfeo) which was awarded the prestigious Le Diamant d’Opéra prize (among others), and in July 2011 the second solo CD recording, Slavic Opera Arias, (label: Orfeo) has been released which was also awarded the prestigious prizes: 1 Prize of International Classical Music Award, Preis der deutschen Schallplatten Kritik (among others). In 2005 she released her CD with songs by Puccini.
