Francesco Pasqualetti - Conductor

Francesco studied orchestral conducting at the Royal Academy of Music (London) with Sir Colin Davis and Colin Metters, at the Accademia Chigiana with Gianluigi Gelmetti and at the Accademia Musicale di Stresa with Gianandrea Noseda. 

In the first few months of 2018 he will conduct Il Trovatore at Teatro Verdi di Trieste and L’Italiana in Algeri  in Pisa and Rovigo. More exiting debuts will be soon announced.

The year 2017 marked his debut at the Opera di Firenze – Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with an acclaimed production of Madama Butterfly which was extremely well received. He was also invited for the 3rd time in New Zealand, to conduct a new production of Carmen for New Zealand Opera in Auckland and Wellington. He was also the conductor for Nino Rota’s The Italian Straw Hat for the LTL Opera Studio in Pisa, Lucca e Livorno.

In 2016 he made his debut at Cologne Opera conducting Cosi Fan Tutte, which he conducted again at Teatro Sociale di Como and Teatro Fraschini di Pavia for Opera Lombardia. He was on the podium for the new production of Mefistofele in Pisa and Lucca and of Verdi’s Macbeth for the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. In 2015 Francesco was at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice with La Scala di seta, and made his debut in the symphonic season of the Orchestre d’Auvergne in France.

Recent Operatic engagements include Il Matrimonio Segreto and Die Zauberfloete at the Teatro Regio in Torino, La Scala di Seta at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, La Boheme and Madama Butterfly at the New Zealand Opera, Barbiere di Siviglia at Stresa Festival, La Traviata and Italiana in Algeri at the Teatro di Como (Opera Lombardia – AsLiCo), Le Nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni at the Teatro Verdi, Pisa, L’Elisir d’Amore at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, at the Teatro di Sassari and at the RNCM (Manchester). He is a visiting professor at the National Opera Studio in London for the Italian operatic repertoire.

Francesco is also a regular guest in the symphonic season of the ORT-Orchestra della Toscana, the OGI Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic in Manchester, the RNCM Symphony Orchestra-Manchester, the chamber orchestra of Teatro alla Scala “I Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala”, the Orchestra Sinfonica di San Remo, the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino and the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino, performing with soloists like Boris Belkin, Francesca Dego, Bruno Canino and Marie-Josèphe Jude.

Francesco has been the assistant of Gianluigi Gelmetti, Gianandrea Noseda, Sir Colin Davis and Trevor Pinnock at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Opéra de Monte Carlo, Stresa Festival. In 2009 he attended the LSO Discovery Scheme, having the chance to conduct Brahms III Symphony in a matinee with the London Symphony Orchestra.
